We engage in advocacy work with legislators and administrative agencies in Washington, DC, while also building the capacity of our members to do effective grassroots organizing work. &nbsp;This synergy between a well-established DC office and a network of grassroots farmers and advocates participating through strong organizations is the key to NSAC\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/sustainableagriculture.net\/our-work\/campaigns\/\"><strong>CAMPAIGNS<\/strong> \u2013 Learn about our current major campaigns spanning a host of sustainable ag issues. <\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/sustainableagriculture.net\/our-work\/issues\/\"><strong>ISSUES<\/strong> \u2013 Learn about the full range of policy issues we work on and why they matter. <\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/sustainableagriculture.net\/about-us\/organizational-structure\/\"><strong>OUR PROCESS<\/strong> \u2013 Learn about our organizational structure and how NSAC involves its grassroots members in the policy-making process through these campaigns and issues.<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr width=\"50%\">\n<p>NSAC works to reform and construct policies and programs that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ensure opportunity and <strong>fairness for small and medium-sized family farms<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>promote agricultural practices that <strong>conserve our soil, water, wildlife habitat,<\/strong> and <strong>energy<\/strong><strong> resources<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>increase the ability of <strong>beginning farmers <\/strong>to enter into farming;<\/li>\n<li>encourage new and existing farmers to transition to sustainable and <strong>organic<\/strong> production&nbsp;practices;<\/li>\n<li>expand cutting-edge <strong>on-farm research<\/strong> and extension for sustainable ag;<\/li>\n<li>enable producer access to <strong>local and regional food systems<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>increase <strong>consumer accessibility <\/strong>to sustainably produced foods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) leverages the power of DC-based advocacy, public education, and grassroots voices nationwide to advance policies for a more sustainable farm and food system.
